The Contract Analyst (CA) leads initiatives within the Program and Innovation Office (PIO) that ensure management across the contract lifecycle aligned with the office’s priorities and programs. Under the guidance of program leadership and in partnership with program and project managers and General Counsel, the CA is responsible for contract management services, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and monitoring contracts, agreements and memoranda of agreement/understanding (MOA/U), in compliance with the CDC Foundation’s polices, regulations and standards. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital to the success of the CA.

This is a hybrid position based in Atlanta, GA and relocation expenses are not provided.

Salary Range: $80,000-$98,000

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic oversight for PIO’s contractual needs to ensure efficient contract development and review, timely tracking of end dates and extensions and alignment with organizational standards.
  • Develops and clearly communicates contractual standards and guidelines, tracks and documents organizational and leadership requirements and ensures compliance through the contract life cycle process.
  • Enables effective program delivery through collaboration with program staff to develop contracts with strong scopes of work and clear budgets and ensures timely execution and renewal.
  • Efficiently tracks high level data for over 500 agreements, contracts and MOA/Us across a diverse portfolio of programs at various stages of the program and contract life cycle.
  • Ensures standardized development and review of contracts that captures organizational and donor/partner requirements and reflects program needs and deliverables.
  • Supports the program and project managers in the negotiation process with select partners and vendors.
  • Ensures fully executed contracts, agreements and MOA/Us are saved appropriately in Salesforce, deliverables are recorded and agreements are renewed or amended in a timely manner.
  • Develops mechanisms and systems for reporting to PIO leadership to allow for transparency, accountability and decision-making.
  • Liaises and confers with other CDC Foundation departments – including legal, grants and vendor management and finance – as the office level representative for contractual and compliance matters.
  • Serves as a resource and subject matter expert on relevant Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for PIO.
  • Participates in and/or leads special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Necessary Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration or similar discipline from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5 years of related professional experience required.
  • Skills, proficiency and experience in contract law and contract development including working with program staff to draft, negotiate, manage, amend and track agreements, contracts and MOA/Us.
  • Experience managing and supporting federal contractor and subrecipient agreements preferred.
  • Ability to understand and manage organizational risk and ensure that it is reflected in legal agreements.
  • Highly detail oriented, works well within a diverse team, able to manage across different levels of an organization and external partners, demonstrates a high degree of initiative and flexibility, communicates effectively in a positive and professional manner and able to prioritize activities when under tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical skills including word processing, spreadsheet development and management database management.
  • Advanced experience with ERP systems and software packages used to manage day-to-day business activities such as contracts management, procurement and/or project management. Experience using Smartsheet and Salesforce preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to ensure that clauses, obligations and expectations are correctly conveyed and that there is no room for misinterpretation.
  • Ability to solve problems in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills; collegial; energetic; and able to develop productive relationships with colleagues and partners.
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet and professional manner.
