System Engineer

The Western Digital System Integration Test (SIT) Lab located in Rochester, MN, is seeking a qualified applicant to join our team as a System Engineer. Western Digital’s SIT Lab performs storage subsystem and device level testing on Western Digital's entire enterprise product line. The SIT Lab is a highly interactive and dynamic environment where engineers work closely with Development, Customer Technical Support, Marketing, and Customers. The System Engineer is responsible for executing customer tests on Western Digital products, and reporting problems as they occur to the engineering team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Verify the compatibility of Western Digital storage drives in enterprise customer systems

· Work closely with development engineering and customer technical support to ensure the quality of the product's design and to verify that the product works flawlessly in the customer's systems

· Configure systems for test, then monitor and analyze drive logs, system logs, and bus traces to determine test status

· Isolate, analyze, and document test failures as they occur

· Develop and maintain test scripts and automation
