About this Role

We are seeking a Cognos Developer (Business Intelligence Developer). As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be responsible for enhancing and tailoring our standard reporting solutions to meet our customer requirements. You will work closely with our Data Engineers and BI Developers on customer projects. You will also be involved in the continuous improvement of our solution.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate input from the team and business stakeholders to identify business needs and drive detailed requirements.
• Develop Reports and Dashboards based on stakeholder requirements as needed.
• Develop Data Models and/or Data Modules in IBM Cognos Analytics.
• Review and provide feedback on solution documentation for customers and internal teams.
• Review, update and deliver external BI&A training tailored to client needs.
• Participate in evaluations of complementary technology solutions and BI platforms.
• Provide expert-level BI support to our Customer Care (support) and Cloud teams for highly technical BI-related issues.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Associate level BI Developers and other members of the BI&A team.
• Acquire a strong understanding of Tecsys applications.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant BI experience in a customer facing role.
• Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with an RDBMS such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.
• Solid understanding of data visualization concepts and reporting using IBM Cognos Analytics, MS Power BI, Tableau or another leading BI platform.
• Experience in data modeling using Analysis Services or another leading ETL/data transformation platform.
• Solid organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of cloud technology such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Self-starter with strong leadership skills.
• Results-driven person focused on what can be completed, not what can be started.

What would give you an edge?

• Hands-on experience using IBM Cognos Analytics.
• Knowledge of MDX and report authoring against OLAP and multi-dimensional data sources.
• Experience in Web Development.
• Experience using JavaScript and other scripting languages in a BI context.
• Experience using Python or R in a BI context.
• Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
• Experience in Supply Chain business operations and related data analytics.
