The role:

As a consultant embedded software engineer at TTP, you will work within multi-disciplinary project teams to invent new products and technologies that will positively impact the individuals who use them.

You will find a large breadth of embedded software work at TTP, to show some examples, you could find yourself working in 5G communications and Internet of Things (IoT) devices, curing neurological disorders through neurostimulation, or creating tools for the development of new medical treatments.

Whatever the project’s application, you will work in all aspects of embedded software development – from concept generation and algorithm design, to implementation. You will have the opportunity to work on multiple such projects at any one time, so over a year at TTP your experiences and applications will be vast, and you can expect to develop and expand your understanding of entirely new fields of science and technology rapidly.

You will be sat within a team of experienced engineers to whom you can turn to in times of doubt or curiosity. We believe in empowering you to grow in your own way, offering mentorship and guidance when you need it, but giving you the freedom to develop your skills and career path on your terms.

Requirements

When considering applications, we are looking for individuals with the following traits:

  • A 1st or 2:1 in Computer Science, Firmware, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline. We look for bright individuals with a strong academic record demonstrating a good grasp of the first principles of their subject.
  • Coding experience in one or more of Python, C, or C++. We look for experience of writing software for embedded devices and the ability to read and understand code written by others.
  • Communication Skills. We look for the ability to explain complex ideas to our clients regardless of their technical backgrounds.
  • Evidence of practical applications of your degree knowledge, whether through extracurriculars, home-projects or internships.
  • Motivated by technology and wanting to make a difference though its advancement.

This role is intended to start in September 2025, but there is some flexibility on this. We can take on more than one person for this role.

We recruit on a rolling basis, so we will be reviewing CVs as they come in. We do not have an application deadline, but once we have filled all our places, we will close the advert. We recommend applying early for the best chance, but as a guide, most places are usually filled by Christmas.
