- In this position, you take the technical responsibility for overall performance of applications with various components in a complex process and system environment SAP R/3 and S/4 HANA.
- You take technical ownership of the performance topic in SAP area and gain a deep understanding of the overall landscape to keep a holistic view. You will provide assistance to the developers and development leads with regards to optimizing the performance of the ABAP and SQL database objects.
- You know the right tools to identify root causes for a performance problem. Therefor you have knowledge about the different buffers in SAP (Table buffer, Database Cache, etc.) and you know the different strategies to buffer data locally in an ABAP program. In addition, you are able to identify anomalies in the workload monitor for the various task types (dialog, HTTPS, RFC, etc.) and find causes.
- You are able to identify and evaluate performance problems related to database access (Oracle, S4/ HANA) and create solutions. You are able to use the necessary analysis tools (SQL Trace, Single Transaction Analysis, Plan Visualizer, DBA Cockpit, Table Call Statistic, etc.). You are also able to take load off the database layer by identifying and minimizing redundancies for database access. You will work closely with colleagues from the data center on these topics.
- You are able to identify performance problems related to access to internal tables and to provide recommendations for improving performance.
- You are able to use other tools from the SAP toolbox. These include the SQL editor, the snapshot monitor, the ABAP call monitor and the dump analysis tool.
- You have proven and deep technical experience with S/4 HANA (also in the topics ODATA, CDS views, UI5, workflow) and like sharing your expertise. You enable and support the development team in the transformation of the product to S/4 HANA by e.g. upskilling the development team for S/4 HANA based on individual needs, reviewing technical concepts, and improving quality by code reviews.
- You collaborate closely with the international team to allow further developments of the product while the product transformation is already in progress.
- You enable the team to organize themselves in an agile setup (drive brainstorming of complex solutions, breakdown of tasks, effort estimation, timelines) such that implementations are delivered according to the aligned priorities and timeline.
- You have proven experience in improving the performance of ABAP / ABAP on HANA developments.
- You are experienced in trouble shooting in case of productive issues and act proactively to ensure business continuity. You take ownership of the topic, evaluate possible solutions quickly and take decisions. You are able to convey deep technical issues to a non-tech audience.
- You have proven experience in Optimizing code and codebase for ABAP and ABAP on HANA developments.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering or equivalent.
Excellent English communication and Agile model.
7+ Years of experience in SAP Technical areas
