The Customs Warehouse Inventory Analyst will manage and maintain digital warehouse stock levels for customers using the Warehouse Package within CustomsWare software to ensure the smooth running of this function within the department whilst also supporting the customs product in the branch. Key responsibilities include:

  • Allocate workloads within teams to ensure smooth operations during peak activity
  • Work alongside Shift Teams to ensure work is allocated and completed on time and to agreed standards
  • Monitor compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customer policies/requirements.
  • Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency.
  • Ensure all customers standard operating procedures are followed as per the DLSOP.
  • Ensure the system reporting functions within CustomsWare for Warehousing are fully maintained and up to date
  • Support the manager in the following areas:
  • Ensure all Customs Authorizations are valid – Transit guarantees, customer IPR/OPR/Warehousing authorizations
  • Monitor duty deferment usage and levels
  • Ensure all documentation present for archiving purposes
  • Ensure that all shipment arrivals are customs cleared and that arriving inventory has been added to the Warehouse as per agreed KPI timelines
  • Ensure that Customers SCDP is closed correctly at month end with all supplementary declarations complete and FSD issued on time.
  • Work closely with the Regional Customs Support team on systems enhancements and fixes
  • Follow up refunds with customs authorities
  • Follow AR report – review, delegate, chase
  • Ensure every account has a credit limit and check for credit extension when needed
  • Customer P&L – review, identify, plan

Requirements

​​​​​​​Knowledge

  • Strong market and competition knowledge
  • Excellent problem solver
  • Good knowledge of customs brokerage process and system would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge of customs legislation, especially with regards to classification, valuation and origin
  • Understanding of ocean, transcon and air documentation process would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of air, road and ocean transport
  • Good knowledge of incoterms
  • Well rounded knowledge of the customs tariff and customs system

Skills

  • Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word etc.).
  • Pro-active, strong organizational skills.
  • Fluent in English
  • The ability to troubleshoot and solve problems quickly and effectively is essential
  • The ability to maintain a privileged relationships with the customs authorities
