About the role

Salary: up to £90,000 dependent on experience

HL are looking for a talented Software Engineering Manager to lead an Active Savings product development team in building market leading solutions for our clients.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Leading a cross functional product engineering team
• Supporting the growth of our Software Engineers
• Driving technical delivery, continuous improvement and innovation
• Partnering closely with technical/business leaders and teams to understand business processes and data flows/challenges/opportunities and design solutions to deliver better outcomes for our clients and colleagues
• Recruiting and shaping an existing team to be a high performing set of talented and experienced professionals
• Ownership of services under your team - maintenance, support, security and continuous improvement
• Establish a culture that is driven by purpose and excellence and a team that is motivated to make a difference

About You

• Strong technology leadership experience within complex organisations
• You set guard rails around scope, technology, quality, non-functional requirements, best practices then empower your team to find the best solution within these guard rails
• You enjoy working in a product, client value driven environment. Collaborating closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders
• You act as a strong partner to multiple business areas to deliver on key priorities with a one team mindset
• You understand key delivery metrics, and use them to optimise your team’s ways of working
• You have a strong people focus – you prioritise your team’s L&D, understand how to keep your team motivated and build a strong culture based on psychological safety
• Able to manage ambiguity and seek clarity through collaboration and communication
• Strong software engineering background, able to define and communicate complex architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders
