The Analytics team is responsible for the development of CoStar's customer-facing Real Estate Analytics products. We think big, creating innovative data-intensive applications that take the vast amount of data collected by our CoStar Research teams to create a fast, reliable and intuitive analytics platform for our customers. We are a collaborative group with a mix of big data, API/platform and front-end skills, and we are growing rapidly to help invent the future of Real Estate Analytics.

Our San Diego team is seeking an accomplished Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our team in supporting multiple software products and brands across the organization, such as www.costar.com. You will have a direct impact on highly visible web applications that touch millions of users. You will continuously learn emerging technologies and architecture advancements and apply these tools to improve our software products.

This position is located in San Diego (UTC Area) and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

  • Understanding the CoStar business, the goals of our products, and collaborating with Product Development and Design in the creation of those products
  • Writing acceptance criteria for user stories that contain key information for the development team to do their work
  • Maintain direct channels of communication with software developers, management, and Product Design to accomplish team goals
  • Responding to analytic specific issues that are raised by internal and external groups
  • Identifying and document business trends utilizing real data that will support new features and applications
  • Holding regular stakeholder/grooming meetings to keep all interested parties updated in project progress
  • Documenting user requirements and business rules to be used in application development
  • Understanding End-To-End test cases at the application and multi-application levels
  • Working directly with QA Staff to ensure comprehensive testing for all areas and provide input as to how to test new features

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not for profit university or college
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers
  • Minimum of 5+ years of Product, Systems, or Business analysis experience
  • 2+ years of Product Owner experience is a plus
  • This role is highly self-directed and requires driving outcomes with very little supervision.
  • Documenting detailed product requirements for multiple development teams
  • Documenting requirements for API work a plus
  • Occasionally, creating flow diagrams in a tool such as Visio is required for this role.
  • Agile/Scrum experience is required

Preferred Qualifications And Skills

  • Basic SQL database knowledge
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Experience with Agile Development process
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

This position offers a base salary range of $100,000 - $178,000**,** based on relevant skills and experience and includes a generous benefits plan.
