Wolf & Badger is an innovative technology-led retail business that has exciting and ambitious plans for the next stages of development on its bespoke e-commerce platform.

We are currently seeking a talented and motivated Python developer to help us maintain and build exciting new features and support our fast growing business.

We have a small, cross-functional, focussed team of engineers. We are squad autonomous, work in sprints and practice continuous deployment through Gitlab. We have a great focus on continuous improvement through feedback and retrospective sessions.

Our product is currently a custom built e-commerce platform, within Python and Django in the backend stack and Gatsby/React based application on the frontend. Our infrastructure is built using Kubernetes in AWS, using supporting libraries like Celery, RabbitMQ, Redis, Argo and much more!

This role is primarily remote-based with the option of working at our lovely office in London on a flexible basis.

You will:

• Work closely and collaborate with our development team to deliver innovative, efficient and valuable features
• Work alongside non-technical stakeholders to implement considered solutions that meet complex business requirements
• Maintain and improve our product/codebase, considering scalability and the end user at all times
• Start to build your career on a collaborative environment with a great tech stack and methodologies!

Requirements

• Passionate about solving complex, challenging and interesting business problems
• You should have solid professional experience with Python and Django, with a thorough approach to testing
• An independent worker, comfortable both working alone and as part of a team of in-house and remote developers
• Applicants for this role will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and be highly self-motivated and passionate
• Experience building scalable backend services in any Python framework (Django preferable) 🐍
• Good experience working with Celery and Redis/RabbitMQ
• A solid understanding of relational databases (Postgres)
• Experience with Django Rest Framework is desirable
• Unix based software i.e. Linux, Debian or OSX
• Good knowledge on HTML/CSS
• Dev ops tools experience (eg. Docker and k8s) is desirable
• Experience configuring automated deployments to cloud infrastructure (AWS, DigitalOcean, GCS)
• CI/CD experience (eg. Gitlab pipelines, Argo)
• Experience in e-commerce/Retail is a plus
• Degree in related field eg Computer Science is a plus
