Welcome to Oodle Car Finance, the driving force behind innovative used car financing! We’re in search of a highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to join our dynamic web team.

The team is made up 4 Web Developers, 1 Product Manager and 1 Engineering Manager We strive in ensuring that our software is robust, reliable, and ready to provide exceptional experiences for our customers.

This role is based in either our London, Oxford or Manchester offices and can be worked in a hybrid manner combining in-person collaboration within the office and Engineering team and remote/home working.

🙌 The Role

As a Senior QA Engineer, you will be integral in upholding our quality assurance efforts, leading the charge in creating, managing, and optimising our automated testing frameworks. Your expertise will ensure that our software releases are smooth, secure, and meet the highest quality standards. This is your opportunity to steer the future of car finance with us at Oodle!

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Lead and oversee the end-to-end automation testing process, including test strategy development, test execution, and monitoring.
• Create, manage, and optimise comprehensive test automation frameworks that align with project requirements and business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure thorough test coverage and validate software functionality against business requirements.
• Perform in-depth root cause analysis of defects and work closely with development teams to ensure timely and effective resolution.
• Host and lead the QA Guild, promoting best practices and continuous improvement across all QA teams.
• Maintain and evolve the test strategy guide, ensuring it reflects the latest industry trends, technologies, and Oodle-specific needs.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and advancements in testing methodologies and integrate them into our processes where appropriate.
• Communicate test progress, results, and potential risks effectively to all stakeholders, including senior management.

About you

Essential Requirements for the Role

• You have extensive experience in software testing and quality assurance, particularly in a senior role.
• You possess strong expertise in developing and managing automation frameworks and have a proven track record of improving testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• You have a deep understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and experience leading QA efforts in an Agile environment.
• You excel in identifying and resolving critical issues before they impact end users.
• You have experience leading cross-functional QA initiatives, such as QA Guilds, and are passionate about fostering a quality culture.
• You bring strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyse complex systems and identify areas for improvement.
• You have excellent communication and leadership skills, and you can inspire and guide teams to achieve high quality standards.
