The Role

Condé Nast Traveller is looking for a talented and highly motivated multiplatform Senior Designer to join the UK team.

The ideal candidate will be eager and enthusiastic, offer exciting and original ideas with an exceptional awareness of print and digital design requirements, both for today and into the future. With several years experience of working on high-end consumer editorial, the candidate will bring energy and creativity to help Condé Nast Traveller stay at the forefront of what travel means globally.

We are looking for someone who has a passion for design and who can work creatively within the visual aesthetic of the Condé Nast Traveller brand. They should have the ability to deliver high-quality, eye-catching creative work in a dynamic environment, and be articulate, self-motivated and able to manage their workload effectively. An interest in all things travel is advantageous, alongside an impressive portfolio of print and digital projects.

The Team

The Senior Designer will be part of the art team, supporting and reporting to the UK Art Director and Global Creative Director, as well as liaising daily with the picture team, senior editors and the Global Editorial Director. They'll be flexible and agile, working well on their own initiative while actively engaging and being part of a team.

What you will do:

  • Work with the UK Condé Nast Traveller editorial team and art team led by the UK Art Director and Global Creative Director to develop top-level creative on brand design solutions.
  • Assist in maintaining brand standards across all print and digital properties including the printed magazine, website, social platforms, videos and newsletters in collaboration with the digital team.
  • Design layouts for front of book (FOB), features and supplements for the printed magazine.
  • Adapt and create original infographics, icons and animations across all digital platforms for supplementary branded Condé Nast Traveller events.
  • Work collaboratively with post-production to meet magazine print deadlines.
  • Assist and project manage workflow for print and digital projects with the UK Art Director and Global Creative Director.
  • Commission original artwork, including illustrations etc, when required.

Who you are:

  • Significant experience working in publishing and media, ideally within the luxury consumer field.
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, and proficiency in AfterEffects and G Suite. Knowledge of Premiere is a plus.
  • A good eye for typography and a strong sense of composition for both print and digital design.
  • The ability to multitask within varying timelines, both same-day and with a long-lead turnaround, on multiple projects.
  • The motivation to be an organised team player with keen attention to detail and impeccable communication skills.
