Lead UX Designer

Hamburg, hybrid

Our Experience & Engineering team in Germany combines technology and design to create emotive yet conversion-focused concepts, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our speciality is leading digital experiences and digital communication that change perceptions and shape new behaviors to make a difference in the market. Your clients will include nationally and internationally recognized brands such as cosnova, Jägermeister, Beiersdorf, smart and many others.

JOB PURPOSE

For this vacancy we’re looking for a seasoned Lead UX designer who can lead a project/workstream for a global player in the travel industry for a period of at least 18 months. The Lead UX Designer will be working hand-in-hand with all areas of the business, including UI designers, the client service team and engineering team(s).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bring experience and a strategic mindset that helps sharpen and realize our clients' product vision;
  • Apply generative methods to uncover potential challenges and opportunities;
  • Carry the UX vision into the team and shape the user experience, considering business and brand goals as well as user insights;
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, strategists, UX designers, UI designers, and content creatives;
  • Leading and mentoring a team of fellow UX designers
  • Translate strategy into well considered journeys, flows and wireframes;
  • Lead sessions to present and substantiate design decisions and directions;
  • Create prototypes and coordinate a validation track with users if required;
  • Work closely with visual designers and development teams on the final product and delivery.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • 6+ years of experience as an Interaction/UX Designer at an agency;
  • Experience with digital projects for (international) A-brands, demonstrated through a portfolio;
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking methods;
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Demonstrable experience with working in multidisciplinary teams;
  • Strong appreciation for aesthetics and familiarity with motion;
  • First hand experience with coaching UX experts;
  • Strong communicator and working proficiency in English, and German is a plus;
  • Experience with transportation, travel or automotive is a plus;
  • Availability to start working in or relocate to the greater Hamburg area, Germany.
