Role Summary and Purpose:

  • Arch is made up of 2 Lloyd’s syndicates, 2012 and 1955 and a Company portfolio (UK retail and international exposures).
  • This role is responsible for the management and modelling of the binder portfolio across all classes. Including, but not limited to, natural catastrophe exposures, terrorism, and contingency.
  • Produce monthly reports for specific classes of business and assist with the monthly roll-ups and internal/external reporting.
  • Communicate with underwriters to ensure the smooth operation of Exposure Management services within the business. Including ensuring we gather accurate and timely data for modelling.Ad hoc projects such as model validation and process automation.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities :

  • Lead analyst for binders across multiple classes of business.
  • Lead analyst for modelling of the UK and Australia domestic portfolios.
  • Responsibility for portfolio roll-up of all binders for exposure management and catastrophe analytics purposes.
  • Analysis of monthly variances and ensuring good data governance within Arch portfolios.
  • Preparing data for outwards reinsurance purchasing for multiple Arch entities.
  • Support during Event Response.
  • Completing ad hoc requests from underwriters to assist with pricing and monitoring of risk.
  • Ad hoc requests from the Catastrophe Managers and Head of Department

Role Requirements & Skills :

  • Good working knowledge of at least 1 catastrophe model, preferably Verisk/AIR.
  • Good knowledge of binder business and the modelling of in-force and transactional bordereaux.
  • Strong understanding of Insurance gained in a relevant industry role.
  • Ability to communicate catastrophe modelling concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Proven organisational and workload management skills.
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills, including Excel and SQL.
  • Analytical/technical mindset with an understanding of Catastrophe Models and financial models output.

Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified, or 5 years’ experience in Insurance.

Experience:

  • 5+ years Insurance.
  • Experience working in a similar role, in a Lloyd’s syndicate or similar.
  • Experience modelling binders for catastrophe modelling
