Position Overview

Insulet is seeking a self-motivated Associate Software Engineer to join our team. The individual is responsible for contributions to our Core Android PDM projects for the company. The person is expected to be responsible for designing, developing and writing unit test cases for various android features, fix our field issues.

Responsibilities

▪ Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications.

▪ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.

▪ Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.

▪ Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance.

▪ Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

▪ Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain current and competitive.

Required Skills and Competencies

▪ Proven experience in Android development using Java and/or Kotlin.

▪ Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services.

▪ Strong understanding of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices.

▪ Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning.

▪ Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks.

▪ Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.

▪ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

▪ Strong communication and teamwork skills.

▪ Strong Programming experience in Java and Kotlin.

Education and Experience

▪ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

▪ Minimum 2+ years of native Android application development by using JAVA or Kotlin

▪ Working experience in a team environment is desired.

Additional Information

▪ The position can be 100% remote, hybrid or in-person at our [Tijuana office]. The preferred location is [Tijuana].

▪ Travel is estimated at 10% but will flex depending on business need, you are expected to travel to our offices once in a quarter for Program Increment planning and execution.
