Operational Excellence Engineer

You would join the Belgian Healthcare Air Liquide affiliate. We have operations across the country and look for talented individuals who would like to use their skills and offer their engagement to support our goals and commitment to our communities.

Presentation of the team and business activities:

You would join the Operations team which gathers production, logistics, maintenance and customer facilities investment based on the European filling plant in Schelle near Antwerp. About 30 employees are working there.

Another office is located in Evere (Brussels) close to the airport, where business, administrative and installations teams are based (about 40 employees).
You would be under the responsibility of the Operational Excellence Director and collaborate with the Industrial Director & Filling Plant Manager.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

**Your mission as Operational Excellence Engineer:

• Identify problems leading to production-related inefficiencies (waste of time, suboptimal design, unreliability…) using the Continuous Improvement methodologies.
• Establish a clear visualization of the current process by gathering information through investigation, shop-floor observation and interviews.
• Analysis of the root causes leading to the inefficiencies.
• Define the new process, assess the impact on the production (new way of working, new equipment, change of lay-out…) and the expected efficiencies (business case).
• Implement the project together with the production team and monitor the adoption.

Are you a MATCH?

Education:

• Master degree in engineering, specialized in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent fields (Technical/ Digital background)

Soft and Hard Skills:

• Technical appreciation (for example to understand how cylinder filling works) with a digital mindset
• Continuous improvement, LEAN or change management experience (nice to have or willingness to learn)
• Resilient and highly motivated: able to work with competing priorities in a complex organization

Languages:

• English fluency is mandatory
• French is a plus

**Position based in Schelle, Belgium for a period of 24 months.
