Senior Data Analyst

The Investment Data team is a newly established operational capability within Rest’s Investments Services & Transformation group. Investment Data team supports all components of data management, including the establishment and ongoing maintenance of the Investment Data Platform, a custom designed reporting and analytics environment to support the data and analytical needs for our growing Investment business.

The Senior Data Analyst will work with the Investment Data Governance & Operations team and will be responsible for daily monitoring and data quality checks across the data ingestion and mastering processes to ensure that data is accurate, timely and usable by our Investments team each day.

The Senior Data Analyst will ensure accurate information is stored and reported, maintaining automated reconciliation and validations in REST's systems, monitoring for discrepancies, and investigating causes to ensure data sets are complete and accurate for use in reporting, analytics and dashboards

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Maintain and validate Investment data, oversee Investment databases and systems.
• Assisting in ensuring that data sets are sourced, governed, mapped, ingested and transformed to feed the reports and dashboards utilised by the Investments team.
• Understand and describe data definitions, lineage, provenance, and the data quality of critical data for the Rest investments team.
• Develop and improve the Investment Data Platform, assuring the availability of, and trust in private markets and whole of fund data.
• Design and manage the implementation of technical specifications for data ingestion and conformance patterns to optimise persistence for reporting and analytical data sets.
• Design and manage interface agreements for internal and external investment systems, including defining data controls to ensure quality and supportability of the integration.
• Support best practice business process optimisation for Data operations, consistently evolving business process with technology and analytical tools.
• Collaborate with Investment teams and key stakeholders to design and produce data required to support analysis for Rest Investment business and project requests.
• Adherence to Rest delivery methodology and governance framework to ensure required artefacts are created and maintained, and that the required decision making and escalation processes are adhered to, to help achieve the required outcomes.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications and experience:

• Relevant tertiary degree and/or diploma

Qualifications:

Required experience, understanding or credentials including:

• Demonstrated experience in data analysis in a data management or investment analytics function.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to drive outcomes for data quality initiatives.
• Experience with data platform environments (AWS, Snowflake, Azure) and data integration technologies.
• Exposure to BI and analysis technologies, PowerBI/Tableau, Python, R, Excel.
• Proficiency in SQL programming.
• Experience working in Investment Management organisations, ideally with experience in dealing with front, middle and back office functions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage meaningfully with key stakeholders in the Front Office & Investment Analytics teams.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Team player with strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate a proven record of success in resolving complex issues.
