Job specific key tasks, responsibilities & needed motivation:

  • Developing, running, monitoring and supporting software for the assigned Platform, Product or Service using the right toolsets required and applying Inter IKEA Software Security Directives, in order to deliver according to requirements and compliance.
  • Synchronise software design and architecture by aligning with stakeholders in order to ensure expected outcomes.
  • Lead and promote good software engineering practices within an agile/iterative development approach in order to improve time to market and fulfill business needs.
  • Support in onboarding, coach and mentor other platform engineers in order to secure transfer of competence and a high performing team.
  • Design and educate other engineers in ways of working, encouraging good practices to meet consumer expectations on Product or Service delivery.
  • Take responsibility for cooperation and alignment with key stakeholders within Inter-IKEA Systems with interdependencies towards Group Digital to develop Product/Service design and technical roadmaps.
  • Lead and support in change activities in different environments in order to secure functionality and availability.
  • Identify, continuously explore and evaluate new technologies and benchmark against industry standards, in order to boost innovation and productivity for optimisation/modifications to the current design.
  • Produce all required design specifications and ensure that Platforms, Products or Services are aligned, by also supporting team members and working closely together cross-functions to ensure end-to-end business delivery.

You will be responsible for assisting the organization in continuing to implement data distribution together with other parties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in platform engineering and a proven track record in leading successful engineering initiatives. Additionally, you should possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, as you will work closely with various teams across the organization.

To be successful in this role, the following knowledge, skills and experiences would be valuable:

  • Solid experience of platforms, architecture, and information management.
  • Experience of IT service operations, including release management.
  • Understanding of OKRs and other metrics and how they would be used to track value delivered in an agile organization.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, including active listening and the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way.
  • A solid understanding of end-to-end digital product development and operations expertise.
  • Extensive experience in agile frameworks and practices, as well as DevOps ways of working and traditional product and project delivery methods.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering principles.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering practices using industry standard toolsets.
  • Broad knowledge of working in agile/iterative.
  • Software development teams and with agile development practices.
  • Strong knowledge of design and architecture concepts (i.e. microservices).
  • Strong knowledge of the assigned technology of the area and related Products or Services.
  • Strong knowledge in coaching techniques.
  • Good knowledge of IKEAs corporate identity, core values and vision of creating a better everyday life for the many people.
  • Solid understanding of IKEA IT landscape from an integration and data distribution perspective.

Additional information

This fulltime permanent role (40 hours per week) is based in Malmö, Sweden, within the IKEA Retail concept at Inter IKEA Systems - ROSS. Willingness to travel based on business needs. You'll report directly to the Business Operations Manager.
