About you and this role

Provides specialized technical support and solutions on field Instrumentation front for project teams, operations, and maintenance. Understands and implements global/Internal standards, internal work process, tools, and industry best practices within Instrument. The role within Engineering and Maintenance requires interface and coordination with other disciplines of Buildings, Civil, Electrical, Materials, Mechanical, Process Containment Equipment and Piping. This role supports both projects and technical support teams as an engineer on large projects and/or lead for Instrument on small/intermediate projects. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in Instrument and broadens capabilities.

Responsibilities

In the Lead and engineer capacity:

Serves as the leader of the project within Instrument. Has accountability for project results and for the implementation of and adherence to all relevant work processes and best practices.

• Drives front end loading and detail design to ensure clear scope definition along with establishing plans and schedules to enable adequate control during execution. Directs activities within Instrumentation from size/select of instrument technology, vendor coordination, specifying and ordering of Instruments, preparation of other contract deliverables including Installation and wiring details and coordinates activities with other disciplines.
• Ensures drawings and specifications are clear and meet the needs of the business and other internal stake holders.
• Leads the completion of deliverables provided to estimating and reviews output of the estimate to ensure accurate reflection of scope.
• Ensures their deliverables meet the needs of the project, including functioning as intended, on time and within budget.
• Leads technical contract package development and supports implementation by interacting with other disciplines during model and contract package reviews.
• Drives value engineering and economic designs to ensure the best value is delivered to the business. Uses and enforces project change management program. Ensures safety in design.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Electronics Instrumentation engineering or Instrumentation Controls engineering.
• Hands on working experience in SPI (Smart Plant Instrumentation) is highly preferred.
• And min of 8 to max of 12 years' experience on the field Instrument side in chemical, petrochemical, Oil & gas, or any other process industry.
