In TomTom ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) we are building the world first HD (High Definition) map to build the future of vehicle safety and operations even at lower levels of autonomy. The team you’ll join collects multiple massive data sources of different types to enrich the HD map with all the relevant information for driving like speed limits, signs and traffic lights. The future of the world map is HD and our team is building the most accurate and up-to-date map to take our previous SD offerings to the future.

What you'll do:

  • Translate customers’ complex functional and technical requirements into technical solutions and define your team’s charger and roadmap based on it.
  • Manage your team to execute against project plans and delivery commitment. Identify risks, define corrective mitigation actions and report to higher management
  • Owning the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, and leading implementation and testing of new features
  • Own all business and operational support and metrics for your team’s software
  • Develop and build engineering teams to deliver on your defined roadmap. Attract, recruit and retain capable individuals to grow a resilient, diverse organization.
  • Enable and support your team members to maximize their potential. Assess team performance and hold team managers accountable for their parts.
  • Building effective trustful communication channels between teams, stakeholders, and higher management.
  • Coach individuals in your organization to continuously learn and develop themselves.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve the way of working and instigate a continuous improvement culture.
  • Set up your team for innovation; define new ideas and investments contributing to the future of map-making

What you'll need:

  • 5+ years of experience as a software developer

  • Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

  • 1+ years of experience managing people

  • Passion for people management and mentorship

  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to break down complex concepts into easily understood frameworks and models

  • Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical stakeholders

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline

  • Worked with production distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, ETL/ data pipelines. (Databricks experience is a plus)

Meet your team

We are the ADAS & ADS Product Unit, leading the production of TomTom’s HD maps and ADAS technology.

In a diverse team of applied scientists, engineers, data scientists, and more, equipped with a broad array of expertise, you’ll collaborate on groundbreaking location-based technologies and applications.

More specifically, you’ll be at the forefront of the creation of advanced HD maps. You’ll also help update these in real-time, ensuring our maps are pushing the world forward instantly. These maps will then go on to empower the largest car manufacturers, transportation giants, and major tech companies around the world.
