Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Cost Engineering based at our Warehouse Product Development Center in Greenville, NC.
What you will do:

Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Create, maintain, and monitor the bill of materials for new and existing products, ensuring accuracy in part counts, costs, and configurations. Compare these with existing product configurations to optimize accuracy.

Cost Tracking & Reporting: Monitor and report the total component cost for new and existing products throughout their life cycles, including identifying reasons for changes and impacts on cost.

Cost Modeling: Develop product cost models for different customer segments (value, standard, premium), ensuring that BOM configurations align with segment-specific requirements.

New Product Development Support: Provide cost input for new product development programs, ensuring that design and cost targets are met throughout the product’s development cycle.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize reporting tools and Microsoft applications to track costs and generate actionable insights for various stakeholders.

What you will need:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Engineering with a focus on cost and pricing of commodities and components.

Experience: 3-5 years of experience working in a manufacturing or engineering setting, with a strong understanding of technical BOMs, component costs, and financial analysis.
Skills, Experience & Abilities

Manufacturing & Engineering Knowledge: Solid experience working in a manufacturing or engineering operations environment with a focus on cost management.

Financial Analysis: Expertise in financial statement analysis, cost structure analysis, and manufacturing processes.

Cost Management: 2+ years of experience in strategic cost management, including understanding and optimizing BOMs.

Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and apply strong analytical and statistical skills to develop accurate cost assessments.

Data Reporting & Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and managing cost databases.
