Application Analyst Programmer - Web Developer

The Application Analyst Programmer – Web Developer will create and maintain web applications to support the University’s strategic goals. These applications include in-house applications, purchased applications, and open-source products.

Louisiana Tech University is seeking a Web Developer for an Application Analyst Programmer position in the Information Technology division. The Application Analyst Programmer – Web Developer will create and maintain web applications to support the University’s strategic goals. These applications include in-house applications, purchased applications, and open-source products.

The Web Developer will be expected to take input such as wireframes or sketches and translate those into working prototypes, as well as develop applications that interact with institutional data sources to provide dynamic content. They will participate in user-experience testing and be expected to use that research to enhance website design.

The Web Developer will work directly with other partner organizations to manage: university websites, web governance tools, web applications, data presentation tools and digital signage content. Duties of the position will involve both front-end and back-end aspects of web application development.

Minimum Requirements: A bachelor’s degree is required (Computer Science or related field is preferred). 1-3 years of relative experience as a web developer using the critical skills below is preferred. Knowledge of regular expressions, XML manipulation, responsive web design, browser/platform compatibility issues and accessibility standards. Effective skills in the following: verbal and written communication, problem-solving, time management and multitasking.

Critical Skills: RegEx, XSLT, XPath, XQuery, PHP, SQL, JavaScript/AJAX, HTML and CSS

Additional Skills a Plus: WordPress development, web service coding (SOAP and REST), Python, Workday integrations, Sharepoint, Modern Campus CMS.
