**Job Summary:

A Systems Engineer will deploy, maintain, upgrade and provide support for the Data Center Infrastructure that includes the Virtual environments and peripherals. The System Engineer needs to be able to evaluate existing technologies, business requirements, business processes and emerging technologies to develop solutions that meet the needs of the business and IT services. This includes script development, system integration through API’s, KPI reporting and the use automation technologies. The individual must be able professionally communicate technical concerns and solutions to peers, end users and management with varying degrees of technical knowledge.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Systems Engineers will be responsible for the ownership, maintenance, documentation and reporting of core IT services, systems and system performance. Individuals will manage escalations from the Systems Administration Team and work with management on the implementation and delivery of solutions and services. Some travel with overnight stays may be required.

**SKILLS

**Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of networking technologies including load balancing, Software Defined Networking, and Micro Network Segmentation concepts.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Technologies: troubleshooting, configuration, deployment and management.
  • Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft Azure services.
  • Microsoft Active Directory including group policy, sites and services, DNS and DFS troubleshooting and configuration.
  • The ability to interpret system alerts, logs, security reports, KPI reports and packet captures.
  • Strong scripting skills and familiarity with system integration through the use of API’s.
  • Experience deploying, administering and maintaining virtualized environments (Nutanix, Vmware, Hyper-V, Citrix) including virtual desktop environments (Citrix Xendesktop/XenApp)
  • Backup systems administration and data protection concepts.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.

Soft Skills:

  • Must be customer service and solutions focused.
  • Strong written and oral communication with peers, management and end users.
  • Documentation skills that include the production of network diagrams and procedures.
  • The ability to work with and support peers, end users and management in a fast paced, team environment.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and requests.
  • Flexibility to work after hours for projects, maintenance and support.

**PREFERRED EDUCATION

  • Associates degree or higher with in a related field or 7+ years of Systems Engineering and administration experience.
  • Advanced Windows and Linux Operating systems. Virtualization platforms (examples: VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix Citrix). Microsoft Active Directory. Knowledge of software defined networking, network storage, data centers, and backup systems.

**PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • 7 years of IT related experience - systems administration and engineering experience with enterprise computer systems, with 5 years of system administration experience with virtual platforms.
