Lead Engineer

We are now looking for a Lead Engineer, Layouts and System Verification to join Machine Room-less (MRL) Tribe Elevator agile team at KONE Equipment R&D in Pero (MI), Italy.

MRL Tribe Space Elevator agile team in Pero is responsible for ensuring that KONE Machine Room-less elevator offering meets the demanding customer and business needs in ever changing market environment. Team is responsible of identifying customer needs together with business line and develops industry leading solutions to meet those needs. It ensures the quality, safety, and competitiveness of KONE elevator products. (Lead) Engineer is responsible for the whole elevator system layout and dimensioning and is an essential part of verifying system level elevator compliance.

To be successful in this position, you will

-Take holistic responsibility of elevator system and layout feasibility against required customer needs. You will need to decide among several potential solutions the best ones for KONE MRL elevators globally.

-Collaborate with the R&D Solution Creation project teams

-Cooperate & engage with global teams to work on ensuring elevator configuration and sales tools are up to date and supporting KONE operations

-Cooperate with KONE frontlines to ensure the best solution for customer needs

-Support KTI project development and product management activities to ensure quality, safety and cost competitiveness of elevator product.

- Be eager to learn new things with the team and take genuine responsibility over your role – and be willing to grow

Requirements for the role

- Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering - or similar.

- Fluent in both written and spoken English, other language skills are a plus

- Experience and holistic understanding in product layouts using 2D and 3D modelling software, such as Creo and AutoCAD

- Capability of creating small scale calculation scripts in e.g. LUA programming language or similar

- Proven skills in delivering good results in time even on complex cases with tight schedules

- Experience in Product data management

- Experienced user of MS Office tools

- Passion for great service / customer experience

- Other system/product level competencies, e.g. experience in performing dynamic simulations

- Understanding of elevator EN standards and how to use it in the elevator context, such as, system dimensioning and layout.

- Basic understanding of all components comprising the elevator system

- Experience of lean and agile ways of working
