About This Role

The Maritime Helicopter Integrated Information Environment (MHP IIE) Program entails the set-up and in-service support of a large Enterprise Infrastructure system. The solution comprises a large infrastructure of client devices and deployed/portable maintenance devices, as well as servers, middleware, and a combination of commercial off the shelf and custom software developed for the program.

The MHP IIE enables the efficient management of the maintenance of the Maritime Helicopters, its associated training activities, as well as providing performance, configuration and collaboration management for all clients and contractors.

In support of this program, the successful candidate will be responsible to work as part of a team supporting the hardware and softer is system various commercial off the shelf and custom applications in the Integrated Information Environment for the Maritime Helicopter Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with CAE team members to ensure MHP IIE support activities in North Saanich meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Support contractor-provided client device hardware, including both conventional and ruggedized equipment.
  • Image, deploy, and support contractor-provided hardware and software for aircraft deployments away from the base.
  • Provide environment support for various applications and programs, including remote support for isolated environments.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software issues, restoring application functionality in case of failures.
  • Prepare, manage, and update technical system documentation.
  • Provide semi-regular after-hours support for the IIE system.
  • Document resolutions for support issues

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent college education
  • Experience installing and supporting Client Device Windows Operating Systems using documented processes
  • Experience installing, deploying, and supporting desktop and laptop hardware, including peripherals (e.g., printers) following documented processes
  • Familiarity with or understanding of Server Operating Systems (VMware, Windows 2016 or newer)
  • Proficient with Helpdesk tools and processes for managing user issues, both application and hardware-related, including escalation to vendors as needed
  • Experience providing on-site and remote support
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide after-hours support as needed
  • Ability to lift/move bulky objects (e.g., printers, computer equipment within wheeled transport cases or boxes)
  • Eligibility to obtain Canadian Security Clearance & Controlled Goods Clearance, and ability to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or with a valid Work Permit

Optional Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in French and English is a valuable asset, though not required
  • Experience with device imaging tools such as Norton Ghost, Acronis SnapDeploy, or Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager
  • Understanding of host-based virtualization
  • Understanding of Ethernet switch technology
  • Understanding of SAN (Storage Area Networks)
  • Experience with managing Microsoft Active Directory, including DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Management
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Backup Solutions (e.g., VEEAM)
  • Familiarity with database tools such as Microsoft SQL and Oracle
