The Role in a Nutshell

On behalf of our client, a start-up company, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Python Developer to join their team in the early development stage of their project. The successful candidate will play a key role in building the web application from scratch.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop server-side logic using Python.
• Construct REST API endpoints.
• Implement distributed tracing, metric exporting, and logging using Python frameworks.
• Proficient in Python with a good understanding of its ecosystem.
• Experience with FastAPI framework is preferred.
• Familiarity with Python frameworks related to distributed tracing, metric exporting, logging, and persistence.

Your Key Strengths

• Strong Computer Science Fundamentals: Excellent understanding of data structures, algorithms, and key concepts such as computational complexity.
• Fluency in Design Patterns & Coding Best Practices: Proficient in applying design patterns and adhering to best practices. Strong grasp of inheritance, polymorphism, code reusability, and packaging.
• Domain Modeling & Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Skilled in domain modeling and applying DDD principles to software architecture.
• Python Proficiency: Extensive experience in Python, particularly with frameworks such as FastAPI, for building enterprise-level microservice solutions.
  • Familiar with setting up externalized cloud configurations and implementing distributed tracing solutions.
  • Experience with telemetry and custom metrics exposure and aggregation.
  • Expertise in microservice-to-microservice internal communication.
• Database Frameworks & Optimization: Proficient in using frameworks for database communication, such as SQLAlchemy, with a focus on tuning and optimizing query performance.
  • Capable of building optimized queries and configuring efficient database connections.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, including operations such as inner/outer joins, data aggregation, and index optimization. We primarily use Azure SQL Server.
• Azure Cloud Experience: Familiarity with the Azure Cloud Portal and its broader ecosystem is highly desirable.
• Testing & CI/CD Integration: Proficient in writing unit and integration tests in Python, with awareness of CI/CD processes and related configuration.
• Version Control: Fluent in Git and the Git-flow branching model.
• Security Awareness: Knowledge of OWASP principles and hands-on experience with addressing security vulnerabilities is a valuable plus.
• Agile Practices & Methodologies: Strong experience in Agile methodologies and best practices.
