*Payment Processing Experience Required

**Summary of Role:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in debit payment processing for internal stakeholders and customers
  • Lead and/or support system delivery on authorization, settlement, interchange, and debit routing systems as part of the compliance program, including planning, risk management, quality control, and loss prevention
  • Translate and interpret business strategies into project needs as technical requirements, scope definition, process maps, gap analyses, and business test cases
  • Adhere to processes for effective and efficient reporting and data analysis to minimize risk exposure
  • Ensure conformance with applicable laws and regulations pertaining to payment processing
  • Consult with business and technology stakeholders on issues, research, and business development efforts
  • Represents Enterprise Compliance at industry and customer events

**Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with application Scrum teams, defining requirements, conducting impact analysis, validation of deliverables, and supporting production processes specific to card brand, debit network, and regulatory compliance rules
  • Cultivate relationships with payment schemes to influence outcomes which align with company and client strategy and advance the company's position as a global leader in compliance, security, risk, fraud and innovation
  • Decompose capabilities/features into prioritized user stories and manage the team backlog
  • Ensure technical designs meet product objectives during initial implementation and ongoing production support
  • Participate in scrum ceremonies
  • Provide advisory services to all business units regarding existing regulations, regulatory requirements, new regulatory changes, and compliance risks for debit processing
  • Support new and existing merchant implementations/conversions as required
  • Interface with third-party vendors such as card brands, debit networks, and debit service providers to ensure business needs are met
  • Assist various operational teams with production issues related to application compliance, network rules, and third-party vendors (e.g. debit networks or other service providers)
  • Train internal resources and external customers on new functionality and processes as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in payment processing (preferably in Merchant Acquiring)
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical or analytical role in the IT field
  • Critical thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter; takes initiative, displays ownership and personal accountability
  • Ability to build trust and rapport within a team and with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to evaluate information and make risk-based decisions
  • 2+ years SQL experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and able to interpret conditions and data to solve complex problems that may not always be well-defined by drawing on a broad base of business and industry expertise
  • Ability to contribute effectively within a fast-paced, fluid environment and handle changing priorities with confident decision making to achieve strategic and operational goals
  • Collaborate across all levels of an organization and communicate in an articulate manner to a cross-functional audience to influence results
  • Not afraid to question “why” and create solutions, see other ways to do things, don’t take things at face value
  • Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills
  • Experience with ISO 8583 message specifications is a plus
  • Experience working in an Agile Development environment preferred
  • Excellent time-management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work independently, on own, for a remote manager
  • Proficient in Google G Suite applications and SQL experience is a plus
  • Global Payments / Heartland / TSYS systems knowledge a plus

**Education Desired

  • Degree in a related field of study from an accredited university. Relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered
