- Design and Development:
- Develop detailed design plans and specifications for marine structures and systems, including but not limited to docks, piers, jetties, seawalls, and offshore platforms.
- Conduct feasibility studies and analysis to determine the best design solutions for marine construction projects.
- Utilize advanced engineering software for modeling, analysis, and design.
- Technical Analysis:
- Perform structural analysis and simulations to ensure the stability and durability of designs under various environmental conditions, such as waves, tides, and wind loads.
- Assess and incorporate considerations for marine-specific factors like corrosion, sedimentation, and biofouling.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage design projects from initial concept through to completion, coordinating with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
- Prepare and review design documentation, including technical drawings, reports, and specifications.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines, and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure design accuracy and adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct peer reviews of design work and address any identified issues or improvements.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure that all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential risks associated with marine construction and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
- Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental practices throughout the design and construction phases.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with project managers, construction teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project requirements are met.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and design teams.
- Innovation and Improvement:
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in marine engineering.
- Propose and implement improvements to design processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in marine engineering design, preferably within a construction company or similar environment in the Middle East.
- Extensive experience in designing marine structures and systems, including piers, docks, seawalls, and offshore platforms. This role involves working on various marine construction projects, ensuring that designs are structurally sound, compliant with regulations, and aligned with project specifications.
