Senior AI Engineer

Save My Exams is a rapidly growing EdTech business on the lookout for an ambitious Senior AI Engineer to join our Engineering team and help us apply AI to a wide set of customer and business problems.

Reaching up to 2m monthly active users and on our way to 160,000 paying members, all while being bootstrapped and profitable, we’re now on the lookout for a Senior AI Engineer to join our team.

Our Engineering team currently consists of 12 Engineers across 3 product squads. We believe that AI can be transformative across our entire product, and so the role of Senior AI Engineer would sit across all squads and report directly to our experienced Lead AI Engineer.

Your Responsibilities

• Experiment quickly, applying modern AI techniques to a range of different problem areas to find where we should be investing our effort.
• Create, prioritise and manage a roadmap of initiatives that will significantly move the needle on our strategic objectives.
• Create deliverables which can be easily integrated into our product, suggest great off-the-shelf tooling that reduces maintenance burden and monitor results on an ongoing basis.
• Manage the risk of AI tools, including accuracy and alignment concerns.
• Understand our business, our students, and our content, allowing you to use your judgement to make autonomous decisions.
• Collaborate across teams to identify, prioritise, solve problems iteratively.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience developing products which solve real user problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• User c-ntricity and an attitude of taking responsibility for the product and code you ship to our students.
• A test-and-learn mindset.
• An understanding – and balanced opinions – of risks when developing AI products.

Nice to-haves:

• In-depth experience of building products based around LLMs or other generative AI.
• Experience with the operational side of AI, hosting and maintaining models.
• Experience with web development, we use TypeScript, Next.js, React, Express,
• Postgres.
• Experience in the EdTech space or in Education in general
