Senior Product Designer

Skin + Me is a mission driven start-up with seriously big skin goals.

We’re looking for an experienced Product Designer to join our Product Team at Skin + Me. This is a hybrid working role with three days a week in our Central London HQ (Mon, Tue, Fri) and two days remote.

What you'll do:

You will be working alongside the Head of Product Design on a new business area covering the whole scope of design, including:

Stakeholder management:

• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and ideation sessions
• Advocate for the value of UX in the broader organisation

Qualitative research:

• Clearly articulate your research goals to earn buy in
• Validate your designs in the early stages of product development
• Plan and conduct user research using a variety of techniques
• Liaise with CS, to pick up insights
• Develop a good understanding of the customer journey through different touchpoints, not just web
• Promote a shared understanding of the user journey and pain points across all touch points

Quantitative research:

• We are a data driven organisation, most new features are A/B tested out
• You’ll have access to plenty of data to inform your work
• You’ll be expected to propose experiments with a clear view on what success looks like
• You’ll need to follow up with your experiments, maintain relevant documentation and circulate the learnings

Product Design:

• Produce innovative design solutions which are informed by data and the insights you’ve gathered
• Explore a wide range of possible UI solutions
• Graceful degradation of initial concepts to help us to narrow down the scope, and get to production faster
• Work closely with copywriters and graphic designers to weave a compelling narrative on our digital environments
• Work closely with engineering to deliver high quality experience, collaboratively finding the leanest possible implementation
• Contribute to our Product Design Guidelines and manage the Design System
• Identify opportunities to improve ways of working for you and your team to maximise impact
• Strive to improve the efficiency of our design processes
• Data collection in mind with business goals

Project Management:

• As a junction of knowledge our Product Designers are often required to write tickets for the tech, copy or creative team.
• UAT your projects, to ensure high fidelity implementation

Who you are:

These are the skills we’re looking for. Even if you don’t tick every box, but feel you’re right for us, we’d still love to hear from you.

• You have a degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience.
• You have a portfolio that demonstrates a strong, clean visual style
• You have experience working collaboratively with developers and product owners in an agile way
• You have a keen eye for detail
• You are able to rapidly solve problems, choosing the right tools at the right time
• You have familiarity with common design tools (we work with Figma + Adobe Creative Suite)
• You are a clear communicator who is motivated by feedback
• You are not afraid to pick up new skills in other areas to help the team move faster
• Experience in data analysis, knowledge of SQL and experience conducting qualitative user research would be advantageous
• Previous experience working in any of the following areas would be advantageous:
  • Mobile-first customer facing web applications
  • D2C subscription brand
  • Healthcare or beauty industry
