Job Description:

The new SEAM organization integrates Safety, Environment & Asset Management activities, with a broad geographical footprint, that will support Shell’s business & assets around the world.

The vision of SEAM is to provide capability across the spectrum of Safety, Environment and Asset Management with:

  • shaping the future ways of working through introducing to the business new technology and news way of working, including e.g. digital, SBO, and real-time, data-driven, end-to-end optimization and risk management, but also global programmes like Human Performance Based Safety Philosophy.
  • providing performance feedback driving disciplined execution to deliver reliable, predictable results
  • helping the businesses build their improvement plans and provide support to execute them
  • sustaining performance through strong core capabilities (internal, including SBO & contingent) through building expertise and a company-wide consistent approach

The VP TAO will be accountable for maximizing integrated business value across the organization. Technical Asset Operations (TAO) is a key enabler for the accelerated delivery of Shell’s Asset Management System and will help us to reach our ultimate potential in Downstream Manufacturing, Integrated Gas and Upstream. TAO provides high quality and cost-competitive technical resources who are not physically present at site yet are an integral part of asset teams delivering value through end-to-end AMS work processes.

Purpose & Accountabilities

  • Carry out surveillance for various upstream, downstream and integrated gas facilities of Shell using exception-based tools.
  • Understand existing surveillance processes/practices in place in Shell assets such as the EBS workflow and work in close collaboration with Central PTM centers such as ARCH and Bridge
  • Support Shell assets in improving reliability through monitoring of facilities and equipment and prevent unscheduled deferments
  • Filter true alerts from the system and provide recommendations/actions to asset engineers to mitigate the same
  • Support various Shell processes through Predictive Analytics and help it to become a feeder to processes like Manage threat and Opportunities & MEC (Manage Equipment Care)
  • Support assets in achieving their KPIs through monitoring – help in improving process efficiency, reliability, health of equipment and over all process
  • Post deployment monitoring of models to be carry out for regular surveillance. Vet alerts and communicate relevant anomalies with recommended actions to the asset engineers alerts to assets
  • Use instrumentation experience and integrate with PdM findings and workflow
  • Be accountable overall that it is ensured that all relevant deliverables (also from peers) are delivered in time and with very high quality. Will deal as first point of contact with issues and questions related to proactive technical monitoring and smart platform
  • Be accountable for defining and improving standard work for the Proactive Technical Monitoring Process.

Skills & Requirements

  • University Degree in Chemical\Instrumentation & Control\ Electronics and Instrumentation
  • Minimum 3+ years of work exp. after Graduate Degree & overall working experience in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemicals.
  • Good hands-on knowledge in field instrumentation like Smart Transmitters, Control valves, Flow Sensors for P, T, level etc.
  • Knowledge in DCS, PLC , ESD system
  • Overview of architecture, control logics, cause and effect diagrams
  • Proficient in reading P&IDs and good understanding of process narratives and manuals
  • Good discipline knowledge and should be able to practically apply that to the proactive monitoring work process
  • Proficiency in real time data, Advance skills in MS excel, smart platforms and smart connects applications etc.,
  • Effective communication skill and stakeholder management is a necessary skill for the job
  • Knowledge of Lean CI methodology and Machine learning is an added value
  • Needs strong stakeholder engagement experience, the role exposes the incumbent to Subject Matter Experts from Petroleum, Process, Rotating equipment engineering as well as to asset engineers.
