This role is backfilling an employee who is moving into an internal project. This is supporting our hydraulic and pneumatic division. The role is paying between $72,000 - 95,000 per annum.

You will need to be proactive, hands on and driven to ensure the delivery of all activities in line with agreed deadlines.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Fulfil requirements of the development life cycle from research and concept through to final manufacture.
  • Contribute to project plans to influence project timescales.
  • Undertake design reviews to ensure that Rotork designs and solutions comply with specifications and relevant standards.
  • Respond to stakeholder specifications
  • Develop and provide cost estimates in collaboration with all business disciplines.
  • Present analysis results and project solutions to key stakeholders such as technical leads, senior leaders and customers as necessary.
  • Develop and execute functional and non-functional test specifications to ensure compliance requirements.
  • Development and preparation of technical records and reports as may be necessary to demonstrate compliance with associated specification and any relevant standards.
  • Design to meet internationally recognised standards.
  • Provision of technical support to key internal and external stakeholders as required e.g. Sales, Service, Production, Buying and Quality Departments.

Requirements

Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Product Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Previous design experience in detailed mechanical design of mechanisms and static structures.
  • Proven experience of designing, problem solving and enhancing existing or new products.
  • Experience of task management, defect management, requirements capture, verification and validation tools.
  • 3D CAD modelling through to detailed manufacturing drawings to international standards.
  • Experience in material research and modern part manufacturing techniques.
  • Analysis and simulation of parts / mechanisms using a combination of hand calculations and computational finite element analysis.
  • Undertake travel to customers, suppliers and associated companies both in the UK and Abroad.

Desired

  • Experience in application of international design standards.
  • Experience in:
    • Aluminium / iron casting design
    • Plastic moulding design
    • Gear design
  • Utilisation of advanced computational and simulation techniques (for example: AMESIM, MATLAB, Simulink).
