Senior DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to join our global and fully remote DevOps team. The ideal candidate will join our existing DevOps team within the QAD Engineering division.

The DevOps team is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our infrastructure and application _deployment toolset, as well as being DevOps evangelists for QAD. The DevOps team works closely with our development, cloud operations, technical quality and observability teams to streamline our release, _deployment and cloud operations processes.

What you’ll do:

• Design, implement and continually improve product release _automation for QAD applications.
• Build and maintain the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for QAD products.
• Drive enthusiasm and promote adoption of the principles and philosophy of the DevOps methodology across all engineering and operations teams.
• Mentor and share best practices and new technologies across the organization, including _automation, continuous integration, continuous delivery, and monitoring.
• ​​Continuously improve our DevOps processes and practices to optimize efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Work with the development teams to define and implement automated build and testing strategies.
• Design, implement, and maintain our infrastructure as code (using _Terraform) and Gitlab pipelines to enable efficient release, _deployment and management of QAD’s products.
• Utilize Helm to manage Kubernetes applications and facilitate _deployment orchestration.
• Implement and maintain ArgoCD for continuous delivery of applications to Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with development teams to optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability in production environments.
• Collaborate with our Observability and Cloud Operations team to monitor and maintain the health of our infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in DevOps and _cloud computing.

Requirements

What you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer or similar role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong proficiency with GitLab or equivalent for CI/CD.
• Solid experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience with GitOps (ArgoCD or any other) for continuous delivery to Kubernetes.
• Experience with AWS or any other public cloud service and a good understanding of cloud computing principles.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven.
