**About the team and the role:

90% of the eBay site traffic today flows through the CDN Edge platform. The GCS Edge Team works with numerous teams within eBay to ensure the highest availability levels are achieved while accelerating the buyer and seller interface and providing the fastest, most secure experience possible. The Edge Team’s mission is founded upon the pillars of Availability, Performance, Innovation, and Simplification. Adherence to these guides align all actions to the goals and objectives of eBay and Edge.

This role will be responsible for the development, implementation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CDN delivery, security and edge product; additionally, a focus is required on optimizing security on layers 3 and 7 on ebay’s primary CDN solutions. This position demands technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to deliver identified tasks and projects ensuring collaboration across team stakeholders. The role will report to the Director of Edge.

**What you will accomplish:

• This role has will help ensure eBay sellers and buyers have a the fastest experience possible, anywhere in the world
• Contribute to ensure GCC Edge continuously delivers CDN availability higher than (99.99%) using the Edge steering edge platform whilst navigating vendor global and regional outages
• Assist in offloading eBay infrastructure from volumetric and sophisticated attacks
• Ensure the application of appropriate mitigations to avoid layer7 bot anomalies and sinister web crawlers
• Work with various teams within the ebay Tech Group including SEO, Security, Capacity and Front-End
• Be a key contributor in a compact, impactful group of motivated skilled professionals

**What you will bring:

• Strong understanding of networking standards and protocols, TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, SSL, and other Internet technologies
• Understanding of modern security tools with a high level of understanding of modern WAF and Content Delivery concepts and Industry trends.
• Configure and manage policies via Akamai's and Fastly security portals, including WAF, bot management, and DDoS protection.
• Implement and maintain security measures to protect infrastructure from unauthorized access, malware, and other threats using Akamai/Fastly CDN portals. Assess, audit, and report on security controls, including conducting continuous monitoring in accordance with FedRAMP cloud-security practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues effectively
• Limited travel required; work location does not require a specific geography beyond being in the US; some on-call required

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment in California, Washington, or New York is expected in the range below.

$114,800 - $176,550

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
