Job Description:

Industrial Engineer Manager - Ft. Smith, AR

The Industrial Engineer Manager serves as a “catalyst for change” and drives and enables operational excellence across key business measures and performance indicators via robust organizational loss analysis and problem-solving

capabilities.

This role uses strategic insights and loss analyses to identify and prioritize local supply strategies building out value leadership pipeline activities to deliver efficiency, annual cost savings and waste reduction supported by the standards

and proven practices within Mars Supply Excellence / TPM method.

Additionally, in collaboration with diverse and key network stakeholders, this role scopes, informs and negotiates site masterplan activities inclusive of multiyear capital investment strategies with E2E and network perspective.

What are we looking for?

Education & Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Equivalent Experience
  • Advanced capability in tools and systems related to IE/FI, FMOS and AM, coaching and training
  • General Organizational and business knowledge
  • Project management capability
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau is an asset

Knowledge / Experience

  • Demonstrated experience working in Quality and Safety
  • Thorough technical knowledge of process, equipment, controls and products.
  • Knowledge of Food and Drug Laws, OSHA requirements.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a food production environment.
  • Minimum 7 years in a production environment.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Project management skills.
  • Ability to thrive an ambiguous environment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of human relations skills, principles and team building processes.
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing and engineering functions in a food processing/distribution facility.
  • In depth knowledge of Mars policies, objectives and organization structure.
  • Food Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Actively participates in daily FMOS meetings. Provides performance data for selected machines and communicates action plans and completed work effectively.
  • Facilitates and owns the Line Loss Analysis. Gather, interpret and report data on problem issues. Maintain trend analysis.
  • Leads root cause problem solving efforts on losses for the line/department.
  • Collaborates with line associates and technical group on improvement recommendations.
  • Provides regular, ongoing communication with line associates and line managers on status of identified losses and improvement activities.
  • Drive safety, quality and efficiency measures through proactive problem-solving resolution, follow-up and follow through.
  • Train and develop associates, building team capability in areas of expertise.
  • Leads and launches MSE/Process improvement team
