Are you interested in designing and developing complex new software products, and making significant enhancements to existing software? We’re hiring a Backend Software Engineer with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph to create a processing platform using various configuration management technologies. You will develop scalable data platforms using your experience in business intelligence, analytics, data science, and data products.

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies.
• Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms.
• Troubleshoot complex problems and provides customer support for software systems and application issues.
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance our organization’s capabilities.

You might thrive in this role if you:

• Possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• Have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
• Have 10+ years of software development experience
• Have experience with monitoring technologies like ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Have experience with building APIs and services using REST, Hadoop, Map Reduce, Spark, etc.
• Have experience with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
• Have experience with Linux (preferred) or Windows operating systems.
• Have hands-on experience with modern programming languages including Java, Java Script, Python, and other non-relational databases.
• Have hands-on experience working with ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Rabbit MQ, and NiFi.
• Have DevOps experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure with technologies like Ansible, Cloud Formation, Puppet, etc.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise with a solid knowledge base of geospatial tools such as ESRI, RemoteView and QGIS
• Have experience with Git for source control
• Demonstrated ability to determine the right tool or technology for the task at hand
• Works well in a team environment
• Strong communication skills

• Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision
• Strong analytic, critical thinking, and research skills
• Adept at managing project plans and resources to ensure successful project completion
• The ideal candidate will be based in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area
