Originally founded in Stockholm, Sweden, our client is now growing rapidly in the US. They are an ambitious team on a meaningful mission of improving math education for millions of children.

Role

As a backend developer you will work with the backend and DevOps team. You will be using NodeJS, NoSQL databases, Docker etc to help develop new functionality and increase stability and performance.

The product currently includes a district web version, teacher web version, a student web version and student apps for iOS and Android. To support this there are several databases in MongoDB and 30+ microservices supporting the platforms to run. You will be developing and maintaining the microservice architecture, managing the databases and developing our application using NodeJS, Docker among other technologies. Together with the team you will learn, knowledge share and apply best practices to ensure we have an efficient and scalable application. You will also be collaborating with the whole product and tech team including Product Managers, Designers, QAs, Frontend developers to create the best product helping kids all over the world succeed in math.

Our client is a user obsessed company with a wide range of users from older teachers to children that have barely started school. Building a product for these users often comes down to a lot of compromising between building the functionality needed while keeping the complexity low and the product intuitive. And with that a lot of discussion between all parties involved to find an optimal solution. Our client wants everyone to contribute with ideas and value them highly regardless if you worked for several years at the company or just started.

Key competences

• 2+ years of Backend experience in JavaScript, NodeJS, TypeScript
• 1+ years of experience in Docker
• 1+ years of MongoDB or similar NOSQL
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web services.
• Familiarity with the concepts of microservices architecture.
• Git

Nice to Have

• AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, Api Gateway).
• Message broker (RabbitMQ)

Salary and conditions

• 18.000-25.000 PLN net
