Senior Engineer

Oyster is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer (Platform) to join our Engineering department. The ideal candidate will be focused on enhancing the Developer Experience and Platform Operations by developing tools that enhance productivity, streamline processes and reduce complexity.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Senior Engineer (Platform) role is to boost the efficiency and productivity of our engineering team. You will play a key role in improving development processes, ensuring smooth deployments and efficient operations of web applications, by leveraging your expertise in modern programming languages and your mastery of tools and best practices for monitoring and observability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop tools and processes to enhance productivity and reduce complexity
• Deploy and maintain web applications in production environments
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Ensure proper monitoring and observability of services
• Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders
• Maintain a cloud infrastructure
• Follow Test Driven Development (TDD) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
• Implement containerization strategies

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• More than five years of software development experience
• Proficiency in deploying and operating web applications
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools
• Proficiency in maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of Cloud Infrastructure
• Expertise in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Strong communication skills
• Experience in containerization
• Proven track record in tool development
