Web Tech Engineering

The Web Tech Engineering team is responsible for providing a proven software technology platform serving more than 100 public-facing websites of our company under the blackrock.com and ishares.com domains. These websites serve around 4 million individual visits per month, providing comprehensive data about our investment funds on more than 160 000 so-called product pages, enable roughly thousands of updates of web content and roughly 10 000 document uploads daily, as well as provide authentication for close to a million registered users globally.

As a Team Lead, Senior Full Stack Developer, you will be:

• Crafting high-level architectural specifications, including system models, components, and interfaces, as well as ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Mentoring software engineers, providing guidance on best practices, enforcing coding standards, and providing feedback to team members.
• Collaborating with product management on the right units of work to include in each development sprint.
• Designing coding, testing, and supporting reliable, robust software applications and services with high-quality standards.
• Participating actively in multi-functional feature requirements gathering, design, and implementation.

What You'll Need:

• Minimum 7 years of professional software development
• In-depth knowledge of architectural patterns (e.g., microservices, SOA, MVC) and design patterns (e.g., singleton, factory, observer)
• Experience with Python and/or a JVM based language, preferably Java
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience with software containerization platforms like Docker or Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in building and passionate about creating great products that tackle big problems
• Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills and time management abilities
• Strong analytical skills and passion to understand existing systems

Nice to have:

• Some experience with any of the modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React or Vue.js
• Understanding of typical Java-based frameworks such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, J2EE, etc.
• Hands-on relational database and SQL skills
• Strong knowledge in Java and Spring framework, as well as Git, Maven or Gradle, and Jenkins

Our hybrid work model
