Chroma is a front-end team responsible for designing, building and maintaining internal web portals and building reusable UI components for sharing with other FE teams. We are a group of passionate engineers who love to create beautiful and functional web applications that enhance the productivity and efficiency of Grab employees. We also maintain and do enhancement for web-kit tool that helps to quickly set up a new react portal including recommend dependencies, CI/CD, monitoring tools, and more

Get to know the Role

As a Front-End Engineer in the Chroma team, you will be working on various internal web portals and UI components that are used across Grab. You will be involved in the entire development lifecycle, from design to deployment, ensuring high-quality code and performance. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the web-kit tool, which is a key enabler for rapid web development at Grab.

The Day-to-Day Activities

• Design, develop, and maintain the front-end of Grab internal portals and reusable UI components built by the Chroma team.
• Develop and maintain the web-kit tool that is used for building react applications at Grab.
• Integrate the Chroma components with various internal portals.
• Collect and analyze user feedback, identifying areas for improvement and prioritizing feature development accordingly.
• Implement best practices for web development, ensuring high-quality code and adhering to performance, security, and accessibility standards.
• Maintain thorough documentation of portal design, features, and functionality, effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Continuously assess new technologies and techniques to enhance the engineering capabilities of the team.
• Proactively identify and troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and ensure portal stability and performance.

Requirements

The Must-Haves

• Minimum 2 years of experience in frontend frameworks such as ReactJS (preferred), AntD, Micro Frontends, and Webpack.
• Excellent problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Good verbal English communication.
• Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Passion for web development and a desire to learn new technologies.
