Your Role:

Tenable is looking for a Software Engineer with experience in object-oriented programming who is interested in growing a career in building reliable and performant SaaS microservices. In this position, you will be part of a team responsible for the design, development, and operation of services and APIs for large-scale cloud native SaaS applications.

Our system consists of cloud-based services written in Groovy and Kotlin which are responsible for the command and control of remote sensors. We adhere to Agile software development methodology.

Your Opportunity:

• Collaboration: You will work closely with product managers, other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to continuously iterate on our products.

• Architecture & Design: You will contribute to design decisions in order to achieve performance, reliability, scalability, and security.

What You'll Need:

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or a directly related field, or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years of related software engineering experience
• Based in the greater Boston MA, San Jose/ San Francisco CA, or Baltimore/Columbia MD areas.
• Practical, hands-on, previous experience on a full-time engineering team using object-oriented languages. An understanding and working knowledge of Groovy and/or Kotlin is highly preferred.
• Background in understanding live service software design and development, including but not limited to: CI/CD, horizontal scaling, monitoring, incident response, and common performance bottlenecks
• Strong working knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• The desire to continuously learn and be exposed to new technologies

Ideally:

• Previous experience working with AWS services is preferred
• React or other JS experience is a bonus

This is the base pay range for this position. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance. US Pay Ranges

$106,000—$141,333.33 USD
