Backend Engineer - Interface

What do we do?

Fincrime Interface team is one of the three teams working on our Fincrime Platform.

Fincrime Platform offers the most effective way to build the risk assessments and controls to be compliant with the regulatory needs & limit the impact of bad actors whilst protecting good customer experience.

The FinCrime Interface team owns the “integration experience” to FinCrime, simplifies it so that teams could onboard their requirements as easily as possible with the long term vision of exposing our platform as ‘Compliance as a Service’.

We own the services with the highest request per minute rate in Wise, which comes with all sorts of technical challenges. We own data for every single Wise customer, and every single money movement, for which we trigger FinCrime checks and then aggregate all FinCrime Risk Decisions, making sure we don’t miss any participant or any money movement that happens through Wise.

Also, working closely with FinCrime Core and FinCrime Rules Platform we ensure that our platform that handles Wise Financial Crime Controls/Checks are managed with High Reliability, Availability and Speed.

You can expect to be a full member of our team, involved in building out our FinCrime Platform, having one of the widest ranges of Compliance check capability in the industry.

Requirements

What does it take:

• A strong product mindset, you prioritise work with the customers in mind and make data-driven decisions
• Sense of ownership and great communication skills to drive projects across teams
• You have 4+ years of Java or Kotlin knowledge, experience with Spring framework and microservice best practices
• You believe in and follow best coding practices, code reviews and open feedback
• You enjoy writing testable code and believe in Test Driven Development
• Experience working with relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Distributed and Concurrent Systems
• Hands on knowledge of system integration patterns
