Senior Data Analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst

The Institutional Credit Management (ICM) group is looking for a full-time senior data analyst / business intelligence analyst to join its Wholesale Lending Credit Risk (WLCR) data analytics team.

Our team is responsible for identification and reporting of issues related to credit risk data. A key focus is on Data Quality including ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness across data flows and alignment with Citi’s overall data strategy. The Data Analytics Team leads in proactive identification of data quality issues through investigative and proactive analysis with main focus on risk rating related issue and/or factors affecting stress losses for wholesale lending portfolio.

Requirements include a background in finance, banking, statistics and/or mathematics, preferably also experience with credit risk data analysis and/or data mining.

Fluency in English and very good oral and written communication skills are necessary.

Experience and knowledge in banking, finance and/or accounting will be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Run quality checks against data sources and report all data issues. Detect data anomalies and identify sources of data problems. Recommend data quality solutions.
• Identifies data patterns & trends, and provides insights to enhance business decision making capability in business planning, process improvement, solution assessment etc.
• Perform variance analysis on key risk attributes impacting Stress Loss for Wholesale Lending portfolio, root cause investigation of identified issue.
• Assist in identification of issue related to risk ratings .
• Use visualization techniques to display data and the results of analysis in clear straightforward presentations that can be understood by non-technical readers.
• Track progress of various data quality projects, including technology initiatives and DCRMs.
• Contribute to senior management level presentations to communicate strategy, programs and month over month progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 4+ years of banking experience including data analytics, risk reporting.
• Understanding of credit risk measure and attribute, banking products knowledge.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools e.g., Tableau, Power BI or equivalent.
• Data and Results oriented with an excellent attention to detail.
• Strong people skills and client focus: ability to interact successfully with business partners, risk and technology teams.
• At least Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred in economics/banking/statistics/mathematics/technical science or finance.
• Practical experience in SQL and Python/R is welcomed.
