About the role
Carrier has an opening for Senior System Engineer position to serve as an engineer of the Digital Innovation group in System and Digital Innovation team (SDI) based in Shanghai, China. The Digital Innovation group is responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art HVAC plant system controls and building level lifecycle solutions, digital services with data analytics, fault detection and diagnostics, healthy building solutions, and breakthrough technologies that are used by Carrier HVAC and Refrigeration service team, building system group and product development team for Carrier’s intelligent climate and energy system innovation, operation and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
As a (specify role), you’ll be responsible for:
- Provide expertise in load prediction, energy-conserving technology, and predictive control strategy in home energy management system (HEMS)
- Provide expertise in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and thermal management system analysis in the development of next generation high efficiency and environmentally friendly HVAC/R and energy systems
- Lead to develop non-vapor compression HVAC and refrigeration system steady state and dynamic model
- Provide innovative concepts and solutions for HVAC&R system with new refrigerants
- Participate in global multidisciplinary projects, ensuring on-time and high-quality deliverables
- Other work items arranged by supervisor
Requirements

As a minimum you must have:
- MS or Ph.D. degree in HVAC/R, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years’ experiences
- Fluent English (both written and spoken) and excellent communication skills
- Fundamental knowledge of HVAC system
- Hands on experiences of CFD modeling and HVAC/R system modeling development
Although not necessary, it would be nice if you have:
- MS or Ph.D. in HVAC/R, Controls, Automation, Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experiences
- Strong experiences in theory of automatic control
- Proficiency in CFD modeling software (like ANSYS FLUENT)
- Expertise in steady state and dynamic system model development of HVAC system
- Proficiency in software tools like Dymola, C, C#, Fortran, Matlab/Simulink
- Expertise in coaching junior engineers
- Solid technical writing, presentation, project management and communication skills
- Strong leadership skills and an entrepreneurial attitude towards innovation
- Good English skills on both written and speaking
