Electrical Chief Project Engineer

🔎 We are looking for:

Are you an expert in seismic standards and electrical equipment construction with a passion for complex project work? We are seeking a Chief Project Engineer to focus on seismic component design, testing, and integration for our Finnish customer. This role requires the ability to travel to project locations, but can otherwise be handled remotely.

📝 As Chief Project Engineer, you will:

• Be a representative of our customer and have technical ownership of the seismic requirements of the project
• Ensure compliance with seismic standards and handle seismic requirement tests and component-level designs
• Plan and safeguard the execution of activities with a focus on total cost, schedule, and customer-specific needs following contract requirements, and instructions
• Coordinate engineering & integration activities across internal teams and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution
• Participate in customer/stakeholder negotiations when needed and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders
• Assist stakeholders with concepts and product solutions related to seismic requirements and electrical equipment construction

🎓 Your education and language skills:

• Education in Electrical or Automation Engineering (BSc or MSc)
• Excellent spoken and written English skills; Finnish skills are an advantage.

🏆 To succeed, you have:

• Deep knowledge of seismic standards (e.g., UBC97, ASCE 7-16) and electrical equipment construction (e.g., medium and low voltage switchgear, transformers)

• Project management skills with a focus on complex technical projects

• Strong skills in technical documentation and the management of technical reports

• Expertise in managing cross-functional project teams and handling integration with third-party suppliers

• Negotiation skills and the ability to maintain effective customer relationships in technical project environments

• Ability to travel to project delivery locations
