Reporting to the Group Manager, Global Quality Systems, works with occasional supervision and from broad guidelines and objectives to own Milwaukee Tool’s Audit Programs and supporting practices. The primary duty of this position is to provide a wide variety of auditing types and training to our internal customers to support quality in product and processes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Organization: Conceive, plan, organize, schedule, coordinate, perform and supervise product and process quality audits and training.
  • Leadership: Requires demonstrated ability working with engineers, department leaders, business unit stakeholders, factory representatives and workforce.
  • Administration: Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of quality audits. This may also include training for auditors and other functions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Work with plants to follow up through implementation of improvement opportunities found in quality and product audits.
  • Training: Train personnel in the art of auditing. Build, educate and train others on quality principles and infrastructure. Provide guidance and assistance to other stakeholders, directors, managers, engineers and technicians.
  • Planning: Partner with IT and data functions to develop sustainable globally platformed digital Quality Audit System

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a BS Degree in Engineering. Specialized training in Quality Auditing and 6+ years of experience directly related to Quality in manufacturing and corporate settings.
  • 3+ years of auditing experience knowledge and understanding.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred.
  • Computer proficiency required. Excellent organizational skills and manufacturing /mechanical/electrical oriented preferred. Familiarity or background in Statistical Process Control and applied statistical software programs such as MiniTab or other specialized quality software will be beneficial.
  • Must be able to work from broad general guidelines and objectives with minimal supervision and direction.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Self-starter, able to lead with minimal direction, motivated by building organizational capacity. Comfortable in fast-paced, competitive environments with ability to identify issues or threats, communicate, build plans, and execute
  • Must be able to work from broad general guidelines and objectives with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50-60% of the time to the global manufacturing sites including internationally in North America, Europe and Asia.
