About the Role & Team

As part of the Retail team, you will be working with a team of smart, friendly, and dedicated Engineers, Product Managers and Designers determined to deliver some of the best retail applications the market has to offer. This team will be developing retail-based applications for kiosks, over the counter system, odds boards etc. The team will be responsible for building applications from its base using React and existing design components from theScore's library. We are looking for digital detectives who are interested in the interplay between hardware, software and the user experience.

About the Work

  • Work with our preferred technology stack: modern JavaScript, React, Tailwind, CSS, etc.
    • Vite, MSW, React Testing Library, Playwright, Storybook, NX
    • Datadog and session replays
    • Elixir/Phoenix, LiveView (not required knowledge)
  • Develop, scale, and optimize amazing GraphQL & RESTful APIs.
  • Build front-end applications using modern JavaScript technologies (React, TypeScript).
  • Participate in the design, architecture, and delivery of new features in a collaborative agile/scrum environment.
  • Build the user interface for kiosks and devices with screens that betting users can interact with and that accepts card payments.
  • Build the over the counter screen that employees interact with to accept cash/card for bet placement.
  • Build your components to interact with multiple microservices that use Elixir, Kafka, and more.

About You

  • 5+ years experience in software development, specializing in front-end technologies
  • Strong understanding of TypeScript, React and general UX Principles
  • A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, distributed systems, algorithms and software design.
  • Passionate about clean code architecture and software craftsmanship.
  • Experience with modern web framework and API development
  • Experience with Git and GitHub or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience with relational databases; including PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Comfortable working in the terminal.
  • Proficiency within an editor of your choice.
  • Experience working with profiling tools.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with caching strategies and tools.
  • Consuming and integrating with third party APIs.
  • NICE TO HAVE: Experience with IoT or kiosks, Elixir, building GraphQL APIs (Absinthe), GraphQL schema stitching & subscriptions, GCP, Kubernetes, JavaScript SSR, contribution to open source software, experience working at startups, passion for sports and/or esports.
