Senior Engineering Manager

Sr. Engineering manager is a key member of Ameriprise Digital Solutions team to deliver world class user experience for Ameriprise clients and prospects.
In this role, you will be leading multiple full stack teams of Frontend, Backend and Quality engineers and will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of the multiple digital products. You will also be responsible for setting the vision and driving the Digital Transformation within teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Owners and other stakeholders to understand and influence the product roadmap, goals and objectives.

• Lead full stack teams of Frontend, Backend, Quality and Performance engineers and accountable the end-to-end delivery of the products.

• Provide technical leadership to product development team by participating in design, performing design reviews, code reviews and quality engineering.

• Demonstrate your technical skills, as needed, to contribute to the team's products, or build tooling to help your team implement more efficiently.

• Point person for technology/delivery partners, leadership team; communicate and collaborate within and across teams (middleware, DevOps, Platform, Analytics, Security etc.)

• Define roadmap for team’s Digital Transformation journey and help the team complete that in an efficient manner.

• Provide technical leadership to a portfolio of digital products (4+ teams);

• Build a culture of engineering excellence (quality, security, performance, scalability, availability, resiliency etc.)

• Hire, grow and maintain high performing team.

• Mentor, educate and Invest in career development of the team members.

• Provide metrics as needed for ongoing status and leadership reporting.

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of practical experience on building large scale complex web applications and proven track record as a technical leader and Engineering manager.

• Experience in going through the full software cycle of requirements, design, coding/testing, rollout/deploy standard methodologies in delivering world class software and services

• Broad technical knowledge with deeper knowledge in – front end application development, Software engineering and/or testing, Data analysis.

• Strong people leadership skills including growing and mentoring your team members.

• Experience in developing and presenting a solid vision/roadmap for your team.

• Exceptional at communicating and collaborating effectively with others, promoting your ideas within team and leadership group.

• Extensive working experience of diverse technologies such as: - React JS, TypeScript, Redux/RxJS/MobX, webpack; React Testing Libraray, Mocha, Chai, Jest; Cypress, TestCafe; Java, Micro services, NodeJS, GraphQL; CICD, Jenkins, AWS, Docker

Preferred Qualifications

• Managing large teams to deliver large scale initiatives.
• Working experience in managing monorepo for multiple teams, micro-frontend architecture.
