Lead Engineer – Underground Infrastructure Design and Implementation

Our client, a leading international company in the construction sector, is seeking a Lead Engineer responsible for the design, coordination, and implementation of complex projects in underground infrastructure. This versatile role requires your leadership and technical expertise to ensure that projects are executed smoothly and efficiently.

About the Role:

As a Lead Engineer, you will oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers, draftsmen, and work preparers, collaborating closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to deliver projects on time and within budget. You will also ensure a cohesive structure and process, while promoting a collaborative work environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Team Leadership: Assigning tasks and monitoring progress within the engineering team.
• Technical Solutions: Designing and developing solutions for underground infrastructure projects.
• Project Coordination: Ensuring a smooth handover of design packages and coordinating with other disciplines.
• Regulatory Compliance: Overseeing compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and quality guidelines.
• Technical Advisor: Serving as the primary technical point of contact for colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.

Your Profile:

• Education: A completed technical HBO degree in Civil Engineering or another technical field.
• Experience: 5-10 years of experience as a (Lead) Engineer with excellent knowledge of design and construction methodologies.
• Design Skills: Proficient in creating final, detailed, and execution designs based on a basic design.
• Leadership: Strong leadership and management skills.
• Proactive Attitude: Problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Software Knowledge: Proficient in AutoCAD; experience with other software such as PLE or geotechnical calculation software is a plus.
• Regulations: Knowledge of Dutch laws and regulations concerning underground infrastructure.
• Standards: Familiarity with the NEN3650 and NEN3651 series.
• Language Skills: Excellent proficiency in Dutch and English.
