The Opportunity

Precede Biosciences is seeking a (Senior) Director, Translational Science to be part of a growing translational science team that supports the scientific strategy, oversees experimental design, and collaborates with external partners. We are looking for a scientist looking to transform precision medicine with novel diagnostics. This individual will be an integral contributor in interpreting data, identifying novel opportunities, and communicating key findings with internal and external stakeholders.

Your Role

  • Work closely with the CSO and translational science team to provide scientific, clinical, strategic, and operational input to shape and drive Precede’s scientific strategy
  • Design and drive execution of impactful studies that demonstrate utility of Precede’s unique epigenomic liquid biopsy platform
  • Develop and maintaineffective relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and advisors
  • Collaborate with external biopharma and academic partners to identify and evaluate novel opportunities for patient selection and/or internal assay development
  • Develop a working knowledge around the science of current and future indications and conduct diligence to understand the landscape for diagnostics and biomarkers. A major part of your role will be identifying the key scientific questions we should be focused on today and as we expand our portfolio
  • Contribute to the analysis and interpretation of scientific and clinical data and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Work cross functionally with colleagues from computational biology, business development, operations and product development as well as senior leaders to deliver impactful results aligned with corporate and scientific objectives
  • Facilitate the execution of our publication strategy and represent Precede at external scientific conferences and symposia

Who You Are

  • An M.D. or Ph.D. with a focus in cancer and molecular biology or a related field
  • Industry professional with at least 5 years of oncology experience in drug development, diagnostics, and/or clinical research in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • Experienced working in the translational medicine field with applied knowledge of clinical research design, statistical methods, and regulatory requirements
  • Published author with track record of peer-reviewed publications and presentations
  • Builder of effective relationships with internal teams and external partners in academia, industry, and regulatory agencies to enable effective research strategies and execution
  • Capable of thinking strategically and operating with a strong bias for action; there is no job too big or too small and you have a resourceful, “roll up your sleeves” approach to your work.
  • Passionate about delivering on outcomes as an integral part of a team, you focus on the team first
