We are looking for a Senior software test engineer with Python & C (freelance contract) to join one of our major customers in Leuven, Belgium.
The system validation engineer does the functional and technical testing of our client's products or products in development and the analysis of the test results. The test engineer ensures the quality of the end product by identifying bugs prior to customer exposure, resulting in the end user getting the best user experience.
The assignment:

Plan and perform test campaigns.

Design & execute test procedures.

Analyse data to detect anomalies and do recommendations for improvement of products.

Characterize and Report on performance.
-
Write scripts and programs to automate the execution of tests and data analysis.

Report the defects and follow-up on firmware adaptations.

Work in close co-operation with all disciplines involved in development of embedded products.

Job location: Leuven, Belgium. This specific mission/assignment requires a local freelancer who is ready to work in the customer’s premises for 2 to 3 days/week to integrate fast with the local software development and R&D-team. Remaining days can be remote work.

Requirements

You are fluent in Python and C, Matlab is an asset.

You have previous experience with complex embedded products.

We’re looking for a team-player and critical thinker with a strong sense of quality. You have a can-break mentality, and you are able to project yourself into the perception of the customer.

Experience in Agile (Scrum) methodology is an asset

You have an analytic mindset and good communications skills to share your findings about the data.

You hold an MSc of a BSc in Computer/Electrical/Geomatics Engineering, Physics, or equivalent.

You have excellent English skills.

Specific appreciated skills and background:
Wi-Fi, UHF, Bluetooth, LTE, 3G/2G experience is nice to have. CAN, USB, LAN COM RS32
